Since this Indigenous Storywork website was mentioned at the Canadian Society for the Study of Eduction in June it has been a pleasure to see the number of people that have chosen to “Follow” our collective efforts in this area. Welcome to you all… I look forward to hearing about your ideas and activities as we go forward.
We were very please to have had the participation of many of our international author-contributors at the launch of our new book. Here is a brief update.
Launching “Decolonizing Research: Indigenous Storywork as Methodology.” Editors: Jo-ann Archibald Q’um Q’um Xiiem, Jenny Bol Jun Lee-Morgan, and Jason De Santolo.
During June-July we participated in three exciting international conference presentations to showcase our new book, Decolonizing Research: Indigenous Storywork as Methodology. As editors, we travelled to each other’s countries to participate in these events. In each country we were joined by our local author-contibutors for launch presentations.
June 1, 2019: Indigenous authors from Canada, Dorothy Christian, Sara Florence Davidson, and Georgina Martin joined us for a book launch held at the First Nations Longhouse, University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC.
June 28, 2019: Indigenous authors from Aotearoa New Zealand, Carwyn Jones, Leonie Pihama, Joeliee Seed-Pihama joined us for a book launch held at the Atrium, The Waikato Institute of Technology, Hamilton, New Zealand.
July 2, 2019: Indigenous authors from Australia, Nerida Blair, Evelyn Araluen Corr, and Victor Steffensen joined us for a book showcase held at the School of Design, University of Technology Sydney, Australia.
